Dear Colleagues,

The speaker of this week's General Seminar is Prof. Dr. Anar Dosiev
(Atilim University) and the title of his talk is

"Hilbert-Schmidt topology of a local operator space"

Abstract: In this talk we discuss Arveson-Wittstock extension theorem

for local operator spaces. We analyze the hidden and subtle part of
the proof of this result. More general overview to these ideas allows

to observe a new reasonable construction. Namely, each local operator

space automatically generates finer polynormed topology called
Hilbert-Schmidt topology on the space of all matrices over the
original space. Furthermore, matrix-valued extension theorem can be
reduced to the classical Hahn-Banach theorem with respect to the
Hilbert-Schmidt topology. By the way we obtain a new proof of
Webster's Hahn-Banach extension theorem. Without any doubt we have got
 
more based upon this construction, but we do not know what exactly
still. All critics are welcome.
